Lombok

I needed a gateway so badly. So, my colleague (who is also used to be my senior in secondary school) and I used our privileged ticket and booked a trip to Lombok, Indonesia! It was a last minute trip as we were spoilt for choices. We couldn't decide for a place to go as we also had Kalibo and Koh Samui in mind.

Our first day there was bad as we totally had no clue of what to expect. As this was all a last minute plan, we didnt do any research and randomly booked our hotel. Later did we know, we booked our hotel at a wrong place. The most convienent place to stay in Lombok is at sengiggi area but we booked our hotel at one of their Islands instead. So we wasted our time on the journey to our hotel. Thankfully, our Lombok station manager was on the same flight as us and so, he helped us to get a cab and ferry there. 

We thought we both would regret choosing the hotel but we didn't. The resort is really a nice place to stay and is so peaceful. It is a bit scary though as we can't go out at night since it is located at very ulu area in Gili Trawangan. But the hotel staffs were very pleasant and helpful as one of the nights we were feeling very hungry, they accompanied us out from our hotel to the shops nearby.

We went snorkelling the next day and explored Lombok the day after. YES GUYS, I WENT SNORKELLING EVEN THOUGH I CANT SWIM FOR NUTS! HAHAHA! with the help of lifevest and one of the locals, i snorkelled the whole Gilis! Is this how swimming feels like? *tears of happiness* I really wish I know how to swim one day. It is really a waste that i love going to these kind of places but I couldn't swim. My Future husband better know how to swim confidently and hold my hand ahhh!!! Hahaha.

l only change 300SGD dollars for my trip (and there is still some balance at the end of the trip). Everything here is cheap however, no shopping that can be done as no shopping malls around. (you can do some research though. we didnt do any maybe thats why:p) I personally find Lombok is a better place than Bali. Probably because I love peaceful environment and I appreciate nature. :)

The mode of transport here in Gili Trawangan is either by horse or bicycle. I really felt like a kampung kid and I am loving it!

I strongly recommend Lombok and I will definitely come again as I have yet visited Mount Rinjani. It is located further up in Lombok and we didnt have enough days to go.
